Around the national territory there are many companies, but what makes each organization particular, focuses on the desire to improve the country and transform lives. Over time,
Levapan
has stood out for developing social responsibility programs that have positively impacted different communities. That is why, “We make bread, we make peace” was selected as one of twelve projects recognized by Xpossible. A business community of Colsubsidio, which promotes the sustainability and productivity of the country, strengthening and recognizing those initiatives of companies that contribute to the development of Colombia through ideas that transform.

It should be remembered that “We make bread, we make peace”, is a program of the Levapan

Group, which was born in 2017 taking into account the post-conflict context that the country was going through. The program arose with the objective of participating in the construction of peace in Colombia, supporting the victims of the armed conflict and contributing to the creation of new opportunities, thus contributing to the reconstruction of the social fabric and, of course, to reconciliation.

The main objective of the program is to train vulnerable populations, actors and victims of the conflict in basic bakery and pastries, thus providing the necessary tools for them to start their businesses.

The celebration and recognition of the twelve selected projects took place on the night of November 3 of this year, at the Business and Recreation Center “El Cubo”. Ana Milena Celis, Corporate Affairs Manager and leader of the project “We make bread, we make peace”, was the one who received the recognition on behalf of
Levapan
.

This year the award given to each company was made by the
Canoa Foundation
. A Cartagena entity that works to safeguard the ancestral knowledge of construction and navigation of traditional Caribbean wooden maritime vessels. The objective of the
Canoa Foundation
is to encourage new generations to rescue and protect the heritage of the Caribbean Sea and its arts.

From now on,
Levapan
is part of a community that strongly believes in knowledge transfer and the value of connections. This in order to exalt the initiative “We make bread, we make peace”, make it known and continue expanding it throughout the national territory.
